Steppe by Steppe, Side by Side - A journey on four wheels is a project headed by Roger Chao and Megan Kerr, two university students from Melbourne, Australia.
In April 2009, they will embark on a journey through Central Asia, Western China and Mongolia. Their aim is to experience the ancient and diverse cultures of the region, and to transmit the stories of these people back to those following via this website.
During the 12-month expedition, they will be covering 12,000 km of desert, mountain passes, and vast steppes, in all seasons.
And their only means of transport will be a four-wheeled, recumbent, sociable tandem, pedal-powered vehicle: the Quike.
